 Processing of Soybeans

A 60 pound bushel is the traditional farm measure.  When soybeans are processed they are crushed and pressed to separate the soybean meal from the soybean oil.  In each 60 pound bushel, 49 pounds of soymeal and 11 pounds of soybean oil are produced. Making the soy oil into soy wax is done by a process of partial hydrogenation of the oil. Michael Richards was the first in the world to invent soybean wax for the candle industry 

 Candle Tips

First time burning your candle, let the wax melt until pool of liquid reaches the side of jar.  Usually 1 hr. per diameter inch of the jar.  Soy will always melt outward to the same point you allowed the first time burnt.  Never burn candles more than 3-5 hrs. at a time.  Always clip back the wick to 1/4" between burning.
